Fire Prevention & Safety

A wide range of fire prevention and safety services are available through Franklin Borough Fire Rescue. Any of the services described below can be obtained by contacting the fire department by phone (814.535.1953), email, or in person.

Station tours can be given to groups or individuals. Tours normally last one hour and consist of fire safety tips, a summary of the fire department's history and operations, and a tour of the station, apparatus, and equipment used by firefighters.

Annual fire prevention programs conducted in daycares, kindergartens, and elementary schools have been a proven method of teaching children how to dial 911, stop drop and roll, exit a house during a fire, and what to do in an emergency situation.

Our fire department can also provide guidance and oversight concerning fire drills and the safe evacuation of occupants from schools, offices, nursing care facilities, apartments, public assembly areas and even single-family residences.
